PLN Nusantara Power Wins 46 Awards at ENSIA 2025, Demonstrating a Strong Commitment to Sustainable Innovation
Jakarta, 19 September 2025 – PT PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) once again recorded an outstanding achievement by winning a total of 46 awards at the Environmental & Social Innovation Awards (ENSIA) 2025, organized by PT SUCOFINDO (Persero) on Tuesday (16/9) in Jakarta. These awards were presented in recognition of innovations introduced by business entities in the environmental and social sectors. PLN NP successfully brought home dozens of awards from 10 power generation units located across Indonesia.
This achievement reflects PLN NP’s consistency and strong commitment to driving innovation that not only focuses on operational efficiency, but also delivers positive impacts for surrounding communities and the environment. The awards span a wide range of categories, including Environment – Water Efficiency, Hazardous Waste (B3) Reduction, Emission Reduction, as well as Social Innovation and Local Hero.
PLN NP’s pride was further heightened as two of its flagship units, UP Rembang and UP Muara Karang, successfully secured positions among the Top Best 4 Participants of ENSIA 2025. The prestigious trophies were presented directly by the Diaz Hendropriyono, reaffirming PLN NP’s position as a pioneer of sustainable innovation in the electricity sector.
In addition, both units also received special innovation awards. UP Muara Karang was recognized for its program Rebuilding the Megamendung Organic Forest through a Natural Ecosystem Rehabilitation Model for Critical Lands (Innovation in Watershed Conservation Efforts). Meanwhile, UP Rembang earned an award for its innovation Cruise Ship Waste Management: Empowering the Plawangan Community to Transform Coastal Waste into Value. These initiatives stand as tangible proof of PLN NP’s contribution to environmental conservation while simultaneously empowering local communities.
President Director of PLN Nusantara Power, Ruly Firmansyah, stated that all the awards represent the hard work and dedication of the entire PLN Nusantara Power team in continuously fostering innovation.
“We believe that innovation is the key to achieving sustainable business growth, in line with our corporate vision to become a leader in clean and sustainable energy. The recognition from ENSIA 2025 will further motivate us to continue creating solutions that not only benefit our operations, but also contribute to social, economic, and ecological harmony,” said Ruly.
This achievement also reflects the alignment of PLN NP’s programs with the PROPER (Corporate Performance Rating Assessment Program in Environmental Management) initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment. Through continuous innovation, PLN NP seeks to enhance its Green and Gold PROPER ratings while strengthening transparency and accountability in environmental performance.
The total 46 awards were distributed across 10 PLN NP power generation units, as follows:
UP Rembang received 10 awards, including Top Best 4 Participant, Winner, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and a special innovation award for cruise ship waste management.
UP Muara Karang earned 8 awards, including Top Best 4 Participant, Platinum Winner, and a special innovation award for Megamendung watershed conservation.
UP Paiton won 7 awards, including Platinum, Gold, and Silver.
UP Gresik secured 6 awards, including Platinum, Gold, and Local Hero.
UP Bakaru received 4 awards, including Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Local Hero.
UP Punagaya earned 3 Platinum awards.
UP Muara Tawar received 2 awards, including Platinum and Local Hero.
UP Tanjung Awar-Awar won 3 Gold and Silver awards.
UP Indramayu received 2 Gold and Silver awards.
UP Tenayan earned a Silver award in the Environmental Innovation category.
In its official press release, PT SUCOFINDO (Persero) noted that ENSIA 2025 recognized 178 business entities and 56 local heroes for their innovations. This year’s theme, “Innovation for Socio-Economic and Ecological Harmony,” aligns closely with PLN NP’s commitment to advancing sustainable development.
This achievement further strengthens PLN NP’s position as a company that not only excels in providing reliable electricity, but also upholds strong social and environmental responsibility. It also serves as an inspiration for other business entities to continue innovating for a better future.
