Padang Pariaman, January 23, 2026 — PT PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP), in collaboration with the West Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumatera Barat), officially inaugurated a post-disaster clean water facility in Korong Surantiah Palak Pisang, Nagari Sungai Buluh Utara, Batang Anai Sub-district, Padang Pariaman Regency, on Tuesday (January 20).
The Post-Disaster Clean Water Facility Program represents a rapid response to one of the most fundamental needs of disaster-affected communities. Access to clean water is critical for sustaining daily activities—from consumption to sanitation—making its availability an urgent priority during the early stages of post-disaster recovery.
President Director of PLN Nusantara Power, Ruly Firmansyah, emphasized that the program reflects the company’s commitment to delivering tangible benefits to communities.
“PLN Nusantara Power is not only responsible for maintaining the reliability of the national energy supply, but also for supporting social recovery in affected communities. We hope that this clean water facility will help residents recover more quickly and resume their daily activities with dignity,” said Ruly.
The inaugurated facility includes the construction of a deep groundwater well as a sustainable solution to ensure long-term access to clean water for local residents. In addition, PLN NP distributed basic food assistance to beneficiary households to help meet essential needs during the recovery period.
Beyond its primary function, the availability of clean water also provides broader social benefits—particularly for children affected by the disaster.
“This clean water facility is not only intended for sanitation and consumption, but also offers a space for children to rediscover joy. Simple activities such as bathing and playing with clean water can become part of an effective trauma-healing process to help restore their psychological well-being after the disaster,” Ruly added.
Deputy Chief of the West Sumatra Regional Police, Brigadier General Solihin, S.I.K., M.H., CSPHR, expressed appreciation for the strong synergy between PLN Nusantara Power and Polda Sumatera Barat in responding to post-disaster community needs.
“This collaboration demonstrates that post-disaster recovery requires collective action. The presence of clean water facilities is vital for communities, and we hope that cross-institutional cooperation like this continues to be strengthened for the public good,” he said.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Regent of Padang Pariaman, Rahmat Hidayat, who conveyed his appreciation for the contributions of PLN Nusantara Power and Polda Sumatera Barat in supporting regional recovery. The involvement of local government is expected to strengthen the sustainability and long-term utilization of the clean water facility for the community.
Through this collaboration, PLN Nusantara Power reaffirms its commitment to being present not only as a national power generation company, but also as a strategic partner to the government and communities in humanitarian efforts and sustainable social development.
