Jakarta, 11 December 2025 — PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) continues to deliver humanitarian assistance in phases to communities affected by flash floods and landslides in North Sumatra, Aceh, and West Sumatra. Distribution is carried out through a combination of air and land routes, adjusted to the rapidly changing access conditions in the field.
During the initial emergency response, PLN NP utilized air transportation to accelerate the delivery of urgent assistance, including emergency communication equipment and priority logistics. As land access gradually improved, relief efforts were intensified through land-based distribution in close coordination with multiple stakeholders on the ground.
The assistance reflects the collective solidarity of the PLN NP Group, involving subsidiaries, affiliated companies, YBM PLN, local PLN units, Regional Disaster Management Agencies (BPBD), and various social organizations with extensive experience in humanitarian relief. In addition to support through CSR programs and LAZIS PLN NP, significant contributions were also made through employee donations, coordinated by labor unions, PIKK, and PLN NP units across Indonesia.
As of 10 December 2025, PLN NP’s humanitarian assistance has reached more than 18,000 beneficiaries across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. This number is expected to continue increasing, with subsequent distribution phases projected to reach over 50,000 beneficiaries.
The assistance provided includes basic necessities such as food supplies, drinking water, medicines, clothing, diapers, and other essential items prioritized by affected communities. PLN NP has also delivered supporting facilities, including communication equipment, generators, rubber boats, fuel, ambulances, and health posts staffed with medical personnel. In the next phase, PLN NP plans to provide additional support for the restoration of public facilities once conditions stabilize.
During the initial response phase, members of PLN NP’s Board of Directors were directly present in the affected areas. Director of Gas-Fired Power Generation, Komang Parmita, conducted on-site visits to impacted units to ensure employee safety, provide moral support, and formulate accelerated recovery measures to restore electricity supply for local communities. This direct involvement ensured that recovery efforts were aligned with on-the-ground priorities and urgent needs.
At the same time, PLN NP emergency response teams from the Head Office and nearby units continue to assess needs, monitor operational conditions, and accelerate the recovery of power plants affected by the disaster. Several power plants that were temporarily offline have now begun to recover and resume electricity supply to the PLN power system.
President Director of PLN Nusantara Power, Ruly Firmansyah, reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to supporting affected communities.
“We ensure that every form of assistance is properly delivered and supports accelerated recovery across all impacted regions. Collaboration among all stakeholders is essential so that the recovery process can proceed optimally—both for communities and for the electricity system,” Ruly stated.
PLN Nusantara Power will continue to closely monitor developments on the ground and ensure that humanitarian assistance is delivered sustainably through intensive coordination with all relevant stakeholders. (*)
