Jakarta, December 23, 2025 – PT PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) has declared its full readiness to secure Indonesia’s electricity supply during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 holiday period. Through the readiness of power plants, personnel deployment, and primary energy security across all operational areas, PLN NP ensures that the national electricity system remains reliable throughout the year-end standby period.
PLN NP has prepared a Net Dependable Capacity of 15,825 MW, distributed across the Java–Madura–Bali (Jamali), Sumatra–Kalimantan, and Sulawesi–Maluku–Papua regions.
President Director of PLN Nusantara Power, Ruly Firmansyah, stated that the company has placed all power plants and personnel on standby to ensure the public can observe Christmas and the New Year holidays safely and comfortably.
“We have ensured that all power plants are in a ready-to-operate condition and are being monitored intensively. Our focus is to maintain the reliability of electricity supply so that the public can celebrate Christmas and the New Year without disruption,” said Ruly.
To support operations during the standby period, PLN NP has deployed 6,022 personnel, consisting of employees, outsourced staff, and partners, along with 2,876 security personnel. In addition, 125 power plant standby posts and one central office standby post have been established, supported by operational equipment including 45 fire trucks, 20 ambulances, and sufficient spare materials to address potential disturbances.
From the perspective of primary energy readiness, supply conditions throughout Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 remain secure, supported by comprehensive Days of Operation (DOH) levels. Coal supply is generally in normal condition, with average DOH above 15 days.
Gas supply resilience is supported by LNG inventories reaching up to 24 DOH at major terminals, as well as reliable CNG stocks at Muara Tawar and Gresik. Meanwhile, fuel oil (BBM) inventories across all regions remain at safe levels, with coverage of up to 13.8 DOH, ensuring that all power generation infrastructure is fully prepared to reliably meet public electricity demand.
In addition to year-end preparedness, PLN NP is also accelerating the recovery of power plants in disaster-affected areas to maintain system reliability and restore normal electricity services to communities. This reflects PLN NP’s commitment to safeguarding national electricity reliability under all conditions.
With the readiness of power plants, personnel, and primary energy supplies, PLN Nusantara Power is optimistic that it will maintain the reliability of the national electricity supply throughout the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 celebrations. (*)
