Surabaya, 28 October 2025 — PT PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to expanding equitable access to electricity across Indonesia through the Light Up The Dream (LUTD) program. As part of PLN Peduli, the initiative successfully delivered free electricity connections to 100 underprivileged households in Surabaya and various regions of East Java throughout 2025.
The Light Up The Dream program focuses on providing new 900 VA electricity connections, complete with household electrical installations, for economically disadvantaged families. This social initiative reflects the collective care and solidarity of PLN NP employees, aimed at supporting communities that have yet to enjoy access to electricity—while also improving quality of life, household comfort, and enabling children to study safely at night.
President Director of PLN Nusantara Power, Ruly Firmansyah, stated that the LUTD program represents a tangible contribution by the company in commemorating the 80th National Electricity Day, while also strengthening synergy within the PLN Group to deliver reliable and inclusive energy services.
“As a power generation company committed to delivering reliable electricity, PLN Nusantara Power actively collaborates with PLN through the Light Up The Dream program. We commemorate the 80th National Electricity Day with concrete actions—not only by enhancing power plant reliability, but also by bringing light to communities. Starting from a single connection point at the beginning of 2025 and growing to 100 points, this initiative symbolizes collaboration and our spirit of service to the nation,” said Ruly.
The LUTD program is a collaborative effort involving employees across the PLN Group and PLN Peduli, with implementation coordinated alongside the relevant PLN Distribution Main Units (UID). PLN NP’s support prioritizes communities living around its power generation units and office locations, particularly in Surabaya and East Java.
Beyond electricity connections, PLN NP’s LUTD activities are further strengthened through social and humanitarian initiatives under the PLN Peduli umbrella and the Nusantara Volunteering Program (NVP). Throughout 2025, PLN NP distributed more than 1,000 basic food packages and various other forms of social assistance to local communities and orphanages.
Ruly Firmansyah further emphasized that Light Up The Dream is more than a corporate social responsibility program—it embodies the company’s core humanitarian values.
“This program is a manifestation of the conscience of every PLN NP employee. Every rupiah contributed reflects our commitment to ensuring that no family lives in darkness. By energizing 100 new electricity connections in East Java, we are not only delivering power—we are igniting hope and a brighter future for the community,” he affirmed.
PLN Nusantara Power’s consistency in implementing the Light Up The Dream and Nusantara Volunteering Program demonstrates that social care and sustainability values are deeply embedded in the company’s culture. Through these initiatives, PLN NP continues to strengthen PLN’s role as a state-owned enterprise that serves the people, while advancing equitable energy access across the nation.
